I missed it last year...I won't miss it this year. Those who did go, say the best route is to come out Friday night for the Dinner and the movie. The term, "bigger and better every year" is true in this case

ALL for a VERY worthy cause

Bump. This year the FOSM show will feature a tribute to the film Bullitt. Boys Republic is a very worthy cause and there's nothing like giving the young lads a passion for fast cars to get them launched into adulthood along the straight-and-narrow. Some real first-rate Porsche people are involved in putting on this event, and are hoping for a good turnout of Zuffenhausen's finest among the Highland Green Fords. Follow the link above and park on the show field.

    Gulf-Porsche 917-015 to Boys Republic

It's official: Bruce Canepa has graciously offered his pristine and iconic Gulf-Porsche 917-015 for display at the Steve McQueen Car Show at Boys Republic in Chino Hills on June 2. The blue-and-orange Gulf colors and the 917 will be forever associated with the McQueen legend as the "hero cars" in McQueen's classic 1971 film Le Mans. Of course, McQueen was paying homage to his own heroes, Jo Siffert and Pedro Rodriguez. Bruce's 917 is rarely seen outside his Scotts Valley museum -- except when raced at venues like the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion or the Porsche Rennsport Reunion, or shown at Amelia Island or Pebble Beach -- so this is a terrific opportunity Southern California Porsche-philes to get up close and personal with one of the greatest racing cars of all time. I hope to see you at the show -- more to come!

Also announced for the Friends of Steve McQueen show on June 2 is Porsche 962-005 -- a genuine Rothman's factory team car that for many years was part of the Museum's reserve collection. More to come!
