I had a 1972 911T back in 1974, second owner, car never hit. It had a regular size spare and fuel tank. I thought space saver started with short hood cars? I may be wrong?

The bigger tanks in the RS got the space saver, so maybe it was fitted with the larger tank. The space saver came with a compressor also.

Could be that a later model steel is fitted. They had the steel spacesaver.

Thanks for the replies. The car is fitted with the larger gas tank, hence the need for the space-saver. Also would be interested in obtaining correct compressor.

The 72 space saver gets the rare air bottle. It is also shown in the 72S manual. The early euro 73S's and RS's also had the air bottle. I don't know when the compressor came in. The compressor though will be cheaper and probably work. The bottle is correct though, I think. I checked my german 72S manual dated late 71 and it shows the air bottle. My 1/73 Italian manual shows the compressor. My car was built 11/72 and came with air bottle. SS

    Space saver

Are you looking for a steel space saver, or a Fuchs space saver?

While we're on the subject, anyone know where to get the space saver tire?

    Ed,
I have plenty of the space saver tires.

The only 72 wheels that I have are Fuchs or 6" steel though.
