    Amelia Island - Wilber Pickett '65 911

Just now getting around to post a few pictures from Amelia. Not many Early 911's, but I was lucky to there with Phil Bagley from Klub Sport who had entered the Wilbur Pickett 1965 911 race car that has some great Daytona and also Sebring history (with Peter Gregg at the wheel).

Great car! Interested in the lights -- what are they?

Very appropriate for a car prepped by Brumos and driven by a good ole boy named "Wilbur Pickett"

oh, i agree 110%. no political impliedness in my statement either, just merely a funny observation.. period and sign of those times in that region.

right, wrong, or indifferent anything like this is part of the mindset of the times our cars were made, and in order to be a true historical piece, we have to recognize those things i original to the car.

Raj, I'm a simple man -- I just was reading off the fender graphic in the pics. As to historical accuracy, I'll defer to you.

I've been meaning to start a thread on Amelia. Thanks for the nudge. Some pics of this car from my stash.

This event is spectacular. Almost a quiet, laid back version of Pebble Beach, with a touch of Southern hospitality, but at the Ritz Carlton.

The drivers' session on Saturday will never be replicated. In one room in a panel format were:
Derek Bell, Vic Elford, Brian Redman, Jim Hall, Sam Posey, Gerard Larousse, Joe Buzzetta, David Hobbs, Hurley Haywood.

Bump into Jean Jennings, Robert Cumberford, Bob Varsha, etc roaming through the venue. Fantastic

    Great memories

    Love his Daytona GTB.

This livery was from an earlier/later? period. I thought it was earlier, but it may have been for the 69 season...
The ELSCO involvement was a sponsorship when it was the Ferodo brake pad distributor. I belive also involved at ELSCO was Blaum and Atkinson for prep and maintence?
