If you are mechanically minded then why not strip it down to see what you have? Check everything for spec and then add up what costs you will have to put it back together.

Then make a decision from there....A 2.5 would be a much more fun engine than a 3.0 even if you have to de-tune it a little to run on pump gas.

OKAY! Minor detail you left off the table! With that in mind, forget selling the engine and get on with it. Best of luck, should be a blast.

If it were mine I would be unable to restrain myself from trying to fire it up. Search threads about starting an engine that has been sitting. Cheers! Steve

With a story like that, you must get the 2.5 short stroke, twin plug, high compression, MFI motor running in that car (but with streetable compression ratio).

That thought has crossed my mind a few times especially if word gets back that the engine is in decent shape. If it's decent then I would put new rings on the pistons, fresh main bearings, seal kit, and etc to get it running again. I have a feeling it won't be that simple but fingers are crossed.

Does anyone know were I can get some 411 on the 2.5 engines? I'd like to read up as to what their all about. From what I keep hearing they're quite unique.

Agree 1+. A 13:1 won't work on the street, but hearing it run will tell you a lot about what you want to do, or what you have to sell. What Is it your intention to keep the wide body big tail look or something more narrow bodyish?

I was told that the motor was de-tuned for street. As to what was de-tuned I don't know.

I'm keeping the body the way it is. If I can change anything it will be RSR rear brake lights and lexan rear windows.

    Any suggestions on tires/wheels? The rear is a 285/40 15" and I don't really feel like running that size of tire/wheel. I was thinking about going to a 17's (17x8 F, 17x10 R) or 18's (18x8F, 18x10R). That way I can run a 275/35 17 or 18 in the rear.

Do you mean R lights? The RSR used normal 911 lights.
