    Orientation of Houndstooth Seat Material?

I've seen the material oriented several different ways. Some "lean" right superior and some lean left superior. Can anyone comment on the "factory orientation" (angle) of the material on the seat?

    Thanks,
    Henry

    Hi Henry,

Here is an original seat from a 68 car. This is the back rest and the arrow shows the orientation. This is like all other H'tooth I have seen on sport seats.

Looks like on the factory cards, the slant both superior left and right.

This set was just posted on another thread and done by Tony. They slant left. (Correction: The close up appears to be of the seat bottom, looking toward the footwell, so these actually slant right) Maybe Porsche "goes both ways..." Name: 2012-05-02_12-21-43_514.jpg

I think I'd not put too much stock in what was done on the sample cards and focus on the actual seats. Who knows the talent of the people assembling the sample cards. The upholstery people were the real talents. FWIW, the original pepita in 302316 also "leans left" (much to my chagrin).

Strangely, I am looking forward to the definitive answer to the question.

Thanks for all the great info. I'm going to the upholstery shop this am and I'm telling them to slant left, as indicated in the OEM seats.

I'm not sure if this is settled yet. I'll be checking the forum from my iPhone....

Does this help? Original seats in Pat look to be to the left.

I can't comment on originality, but from an appearance point of view, I would prefer some symmetry and have each seat leaning out. Left seat to the left and right seat to the right. I guess this is possible?
