Indeed. I bought a selection. Sierra Madre, URO and the NOS one. All look good, so two will go into storage. The Stoddard one went into the garbage.

BTW, the wiper arms and blades aren't on yet as we were waiting for the windshield, but they are your repops, purchased 5 years ago!

Wow Ravi!!! The car is looking amazing... it is a couple of years since I last saw it at Robert's shop, so I kinda thought it would be on the road by now! But you have done a stellar job so far and the devil is in the details. What a wonderful project to bring the car back to this level...

Ravi, I saw this car when I was at his shop last summer. It is absolutely beautiful. With that said, Robert truly is a magician. I was blown away with his work.....and our 70 S has been smiling ever since !!

I've always wanted to visit Robert's shop. All the old school Bosch MFI test benches, dynos, etc. Love it!
    Your car is looking fantastic

Found a nice 915 main shaft at Aase. Straight, true and no real wear unlike the old one. So another week delay while he puts my original transmission back together. Seems like a better idea than having to come back and swap his rebuilt transmission for mine.

Pretty common, those were updated in 76. 1-2 guide and shift sleeve in 77 and 3-4 guide and sleeve in 75. I always update. Gordon

7 years in June to be precise!

Agonizingly slow because Robert Gross only works on it between other more pressing jobs (and has the reduced labour rate to go with that in all fairness). We are in the final stretches. Should be on the road in a week for a shakedown, wheel alignment and certification.

Lots of little details that most places wouldn't know to do and this takes time. The difference between 99% correct and 100% correct. Like the special anti-slip strips in the battery boxes. But also lots of silly little surprises.
A MFI main cover that leaked oil no matter what. Had a narrower than normal grove for the gasket ring it turned out, for no apparent reason.
A pin in the alternator harness that was in the wrong position. Who knows why?
A Partsklassik CDI box in which the two capacitors fell off the circuit board during dyno testing. Never even been mounted.
Modern Porsche batteries that died years ago (I bought them 5 or 6 years ago). Replaced with Interstates with the proper DETA decals.
Modern hoses that don't quite fit the evaporative canister (being a few thou too small in diameter).
3 different windshield seals (Porsche, Stoddard, International Mercantile) that didn't fit. Finally found an old, old NOS one that did.
Heater flapper box wire guide tubes that the painters cut off for some reason (they were crunched). Wire for said flapper boxes priced ridiculously.
    Etc. Etc. Etc.

Motor pulling 208 bhp reliably run after run. Breathes well. Valves ground just so. 203 bhp even at 7300 rpm.. 169.1 lb-ft of torque from 5300-5600. 1mm overbore with new pistons.

    Some pics from yesterday.

And a few more. Those aren't my heat exchangers and muffler. They are special to the dyno (with ports for the O2 sensors). No response from Partsklassik yet, but it may be a bit early there.
