Quick update on the CDI box. Found out that Robert Gross had left it on his dyno setup while testing a race motor last fall with essentially no muffler. It is LOUD and causes everything within a half block radius to vibrate. So the leads on the capacitors broke from the repeated dyno testing of the race motor it would appear. Kurt at PartsKlassik repaired it pro bono as a gesture of good will and is Fed Exing it back to Robert tomorrow at my cost. Great guy, great service!

    cheers,
    Ravi

Engine in the car. Plating the last few bolts etc to be exactly right. Safety and alignment scheduled for Thursday (though I've heard that a few times before).

Compare to the before pic (7 years and 1 week ago).

7 years is akin to the gestational period of a Elephant.

We all eagerly await the "done and done" photos.

You and me both. The luxury of time when one isn't flipping a car is one thing, but I started this car in my 40's and now I'm halfway through my 50's.
7 years is usually time for the "itch", but if you've never actually been together during that time.....

A little bit more of the engine porn. Heat exchangers are actually SSIs, finished to match the factory muffler finish.

Chromate treated, Cosmoline spray. Just like it came from the factory.

Not bad at all... but that cosmoline will come off the moment the fan gets hit with a cleaner or pressure washer.

For sure. The green tinge will become more yellow. C'est la vie. It's exactly as it would have occurred in 1973, depending on how well the dealer cleaned the car before delivery. Since this car will be driven, it will age in time.
