Thanks Steve. It's a RD latch panel and it's not quite the smooth curve in the corners compared to the original, if that's what you mean. Same is true of the one Porsche sells. We weren't able to get a good used one with no rust. The stampings where the decals go etc. are identical.

As long as you’re ok with the latch panel it’s all good!

Yeah, given the patience I have generally exhibited with this restoration, that was one of a couple of things I rushed. The original was rusted and had been crumpled and filled with bondo and could not be salvaged. I wanted to get the car off to paint, and so we compromised with that panel. RD is just down the road, so it was handy. The car, as you may recall from many pages back, had been rear ended and in fact Robert cut the back off and extended it back to what was dimensionally correct on the jig. I looked for 8 months and couldn't find a good enough panel. We also talked about forming the curves at the ends to match the original, but in the end, went with the more angled panel as is. I was never going to pretend the car was a never damaged all original body, so we stayed honest in this replacement.

If it really bugs me, it's a mod that can be done on the car, but since I'm not showing the car, I'm not worried about a points deduction.

Ravi, the fan and transmission finishes are just terrific. Great photos.

This car continues to look fantastic.

I appreciate the OP Ravi sticking with this thread, his attention to detail, and living under the microscope that causes him to take the pi$$ every now and then.

Keep it up, light at end of tunnel.

Maybe everyone can cut him some slack on the pics he generously shares. He clearly has the small stuff in mind, as do many of the anoraks on this site... let's try to enjoy the journey and support him

My comment on the trans was regarding the silver hardware, should be yellow, along with coil bracket. Why would u build it with the wrong color hardware. Is it going to be built again, hopefully not at your expense.

It is yellow. It’s the flourescent light and the silvery reflections off the tranny case. Coil bracket is also yellow. Depends on the angle of the camera and light. A lot of those finishes are subtle and not “in your face yellow”, but they are referenced to a whole bunch of original cars at the shop. For those who have been there, you know what I’m talking about. I will have some daylight pics later. Supposed to trailer her home on Friday!

There will still be little details for me to finish in the months ahead, so all critiques will be welcome.
