Thumbs up Dana Point - July 15th

    From our friend Jeff Trask:

    All,

The Porsche 356 Club is going to be celebrating the 26th anniversary of their concours at this years addition of the Dana Point Concours. Held on July 15th, Porsche's from all over are invited to participate in this biggest gathering of vintage Porsche 356's, 911's and 912's you may ever see! It's a show for the 356, so there is no pressure to be judged. Just show up and represent!

As in previous years, not only are Porsche 356's parking on the lawn, but anyone with a Porsche will be allowed to park along side the show cars. $20 gets your Porsche on the lawn and you'll get a goodie bag and special corral parking with your Porsche brothers and sisters. 911's, 912's, Panamera's and Porsche's of all shapes and sizes are invited. The event is going to be held at Lantern Bay Park, 25111 Park Lantern Rd., Dana Point, CA, 92629.

911S Registry and R-Gruppe owners, please arrive at 8:30 AM at the park. You will be grouped together in your own parking corral.
We usually have 40-50 cars show up and it's a blast to represent. Lunch is available or bring a picnic! There is a twist this year, as you'll be voting for your favorite 356, 911 and 912!

Be there and be prepared with your $20 bill and be sure to enjoy this great day!

If there are any questions, please call or email Jeff Trask at 949-697-4499 or NO911NV@aol.com.

Please download respective parking passes, fill out, and place in windshield on your early 911 so the attendants can direct you.

This is one of THE premier West Coast shows of the year..... Let's have another great turnout..... see'ya there

    Lightbulb

Haven't got that far yet Stac....

So far we know we need to be in line on the hill to go in at 8:30, I hear this year there will be NO staging area in the grass to the left of the road-in this year....

So, if we meet before or not, at least we know where we need to be and at what time.........

The Park has taken away the staging area. You should all meet somewhere close and come at the same time. Of course, none will be turned away, but just don't come before 8:30. Thanks so much and we look farward to a great day!

    I'm SOOOOOOO bummed!!

This is the second Dana Point Concours I've missed in the last I-don't-know-how-many years ... last year I was in Europe and this year I'll be heading to Oregon to pick up the newest member of the TLG stable.

PLEASE take A LOT of photos...

The blast down the 5 freeway at 4 in the morning can be epic as some who lurk on this site can attest to. I will not name names!

A new meeting spot has been chosen for Sunday morning..Several hundred yards north of the McDonalds we have been meeting at in the past, on PCH.

    http://stackspancakehouse.com/contact-us.html

The early arrivals can have a great breakfast when the doors open at 6:30...

Plenty of parking in front on PCH, later arrivals can park in the lot directly behind.

We can leave there approx 8:30, let the morning rush getting onto the lawn die down about.

The 356 Club would like you to join in on this Saturday activities:

Be ready to drive at 2:00 PM in the cudesac below the Laguna Cliffs Marriott and we'll lead you up to the top of the Ortega Highway and back for our traditional "Tour de Concours". Last year 20 Porsche's from Pre A's to Cayenne's chased us up the hill and back down.

Saturday at 5:30, Stoddard is sponsoring a party at the Laguna Clifs Marriott for the participants in the Concour, judges and any Porsche owner that would like to join in. It ends at 7:00 PM.

If you can't do any of this, we hope you join us on Sunday for the 26th Anual 356 Club of Southern California Concours!
