Oil Temp and Pressure Sender Compatibilty

I am installing a 2.2 motor in a 66. Are there any compatibility issues with the oil temperature and pressure senders and the 66 gauges? Will the senders need
to be swapped out for the gauges to "read" them?
    Thanks,
    50/50

    Yes
SWB and LWB temp senders are different and have different resistance ranges.
Pressure's probably the same. 2,2 has the MFI banjo thing, be careful.

Any easy way to tell which you've got?

Too many variants made by VDO through the years.

I just went through this with my '58 Speedster trying to get back to original screw terminal sending units....356 or 911 it's the same.

The only way the REALLY know where you're at is send the sending units and the instrument to either Palo Alto or North Hollywood for calibration and matching.

I sent three different temp sending units, and they all had different date stamps and ranges, and none matched the numbers. VDO had actually reversed the polarity of the later sending units sometime in the 70s, so one had to modify the instrument if they wanted to use a "new" sending unit!! ARGH!

Both shops can do the fix or at least tell you where you're at

    Date code on the side.

Resistance range of the early senders is like 100 ohms
    Later ones like 1000

This is why later are more accurate

Put a meter on one and change its temperature, not impossible.
