Well, that explains why what surely should have been a $150K car only sold for $82K.

    Here's the eBay schtik --- for posterity . . .

. . . 1971 Porsche 911S Coupe: One-owner garaged California car, 100% factory original metal, zero rust or accidents ever. Factory sport seats; all- numbers-matching (engine, transmission, doors, hood, decklid) per Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (COA); pristine factory undercoating and excellent original floors. 108K original miles since new, mostly original paint, beatiful original interior. Sold new in Pleasanton California, original books, sales documents, and service records included. Pampered from day one, never driven hard or abused. One of the finest original examples of a genuine 911S on the market. Garaged California cars are the highest quality original cars in the world, and this rare early Porsche proves why . . .

    . . . . and some more pics . . .

I agree. With current asking, if not selling prices, now solidly into the six figures, this car was a relative bargain. The fluffing sure didn't help the final sales price, but that could all be remedied fairly easily and inexpensively. At least from my monitor, this car appeared very, very nice. How many original paint Ss are out there in this condition? Not many is my guess.

Between this car and the recent '73S that sold at Auto Kennel at $20,000 more asking, there is no comparison. If current pricing holds up, this car can, and probably will, be turned for an easy profit.
