1977 Ford Maverick, purhased from original owner who had just turned 90. ( a couple months later she had passed on). She sold it to me with 13,300 original miles. A "Spring Special" with two tone paint and special options package, 302 - V/8, auto, factory air, styled steel wheels, and stereo delete. It was one of the final Mavericks made before the Fairmont replaced it. All original paint and interior, but the original tires still on it were as hard and crumbly as sugar cookies from the hot Las Vegas climate.

She was a seamstress in Las Vegas and worked on costumes for the stars. Cher and Liberace were two of her main customers.

I bought it in 1987, so she put on about 1,300 miles a year. It drives like a new car should ; as one built in the mid 70s.

I will include photos of the inside of the Venetian Blue Carrera along with other images of the exterior in different lighting....... once I get it cleaned up.

The color is quite a remarkable shade / shifting hue that never looks the same during different times of the day.

I am so thankful for the extreme care previous owners gave each of these, and count it a privelege to be their caretaker, even if some of them are not really a high dollar collectible, nor a desirable item to most in the collector world.

There's a few more, both Porsche and American, some German..... but I don't want to sidetrack this forum too far. The Satin black 951, a Guards Red '82- 944, and Satin Black Jubilee/Celebration - 944 are the only other Porsches having their total originality existant yet to this day. And a '49 Packard. The 914- 2.0 litre had a repaint in it's original shade of yellow by me in 1994, but everything else is o.e.

    Wish the 912 still was.

I just really appreciate the 'jennies' .......

    '72 't' . . .

    '. . . DETAILS & STORY

This is the car that started all the madness! We originally purchased this 1972 911 back in 2004 from a broker who had just acquired it from its original owner, Ken Merkle. Ken had ordered this car from Wood Imports in Detroit, Michigan, after his 912 turned up missing (read: stolen) one evening. Ken enjoyed his 911 and in the early days of his ownership, he went on road trips with other Porsche buddies to Toronto and Chicago. But time passes. People move, and life goes on. And the memory of a previous car’s disappearance can make it harder to enjoy its replacement. That’s what happened to Ken, life moved on and it got harder to pull this T out every spring and enjoy it. During the first few years he drove it fairly regularly and by November of 1975, it had accumulated almost 20,000 miles before going into its winter slumber.

Fast forward 29 years. We bought this car (in 2004) with only 35,000 miles on it. Ken had owned it for 33 years before he finally let it go. When we got the car, we knew a major service was due from years of sitting. We pulled the engine out and performed a re-seal along with the chain tensioners update. The original paint was excellent. The interior was all original and it showed only minor wear for its age. We held on to it for many years, driving it occasionally and just plain enjoying it until the persistent hounding from a good friend pried it loose from us in 2011.

We sold the car to Gary under the condition that if he ever sold it we got “First Shot.” And as expected he did. Gary is a car nut. He can always find something to tweak, and he did on this T as well. Through-the-grille fog lights were the first order of the day along with a set of factory sport seats. Then he had Harvey Weidman finish a set of frosted 7-inch wheels and he mounted Michelin XWS tires on them. Next he added the 911S front splitter along with European headlights (the originals are packed away) to give the car that perfect, period look . . .
