VTO will be less expensive, but wouldn't you rather get the real deal?
I contacted the Minilites US distributor, basically 4x 15x6 minilites in silver, no extras or fancy deco, would be $1400 and change at my door... Not horrible, but not cheap either. On the one hand, I appreciate the lightness of those wheels, but on the other, the car is a stock 912, will never see the track or the north side of 70 for any period of time (city/country road car), so maybe I can live with my fake fuchs or much chepaer superlites (if their vendor ever gets back to me, which they have not)... I am still thinking about it... If there is any $$ left after the interior redo quotes come in, I will do it.

If it's a look that appeals to you, 944/951 spare wheels are light and clean... perfect for a driver 912.
You can find these for less money, just be patient and accumulate a set one at a time.

Good thinking, I've seen those before but never really thought about them. How light/heavy are they vs a Fuchs/minilite, do you know ? I've only found this reference :
Porsche 944S2 Spare Tire & Wheel (includes tire weight) Stamped Steel 29.3 - hard to tell, I never weighed a space saver tire.

I've got a set of factory steel wheels - those things destroy the ride of every car I've tried them on ;-)

Keep in mind there are 4 different types (let's exclude the ugly Boxter spacesaver) out there... IIRC they weigh about 11-12 pounds.

I have this set of spares available for $1000. They have been media blasted, extra valve holes plugged and welded, and finished in dull aluminum silver. Never used, ready to go. John jmschneeman@msn.com

Just bought a set of VTO's.

Very easy to deal with, plus they are having a free shipping sale.
