    do these numbers ring true??

    I purchased a rebuilt 1966 911 2.0L engine and have taken these numbers from the engine and would like to know if these numbers ring true for the year?
    Cylinder - 80ZD3
    Heads - K1819B, R90110430304
    Piston - 1030784
    Distributor - Bosch 0231 159001
    Alternator - D120 400 522
    Engine No 900943

    Does this all appear to be right for year?

    I'm not 100% sure but I think the distributor is from a later ('67/'68) car ...

    Andy, that's the right distributor. My '66 has one just like it.

    900943 is definitely a 1965 MY engine, about April 1965.

    If you have the little specs you can check what the correct number for the distributor is. By head I think it's a 006 (the first type that was used for the 911).
    The number on the cylinder seems to be the number for the biral cylinders, which is correct. The 001 was used later in the production run.
    Piston number you should double check. On this board there is a list posted by Tom Butler which shows all Mahle Piston numbers for the 2.0L.
    The Alternator 522 is a 35 AMP. Most likely a Bosch which would be correct
    Heads you can check on this board in a spreadsheet that is posted by Kenikh

    checked pistons and they are 80V37 so it all looks pretty original. Thanks all for the assistance. Just got to get it started now for the first time.
