    Hi Guys,

Has anyone used Soda Blasting to clean the shell down. I'm thinking it might be the best option to get all the gunk and crap off and also leave a coating that will not rust for many months while I get into the welding.

    Any thoughts?

Someone in Sydney had it done, I dont think it was successful but things may have changed.

Ok, So I ave been pretty flat out with work and the car of late.

    An update on the car.

Removed rear suspension. The right hand rear bolt on the banana arm was seized, so took a lot of penetrating fluid and a rattle gun over three days to get it off.

Have loosened all of the front suspension off. I can't drop it until I cut away some of the sheet metal used for the RHD conversion. It is very difficult to access the allen bolts that hold the steering to the body. Once I have cut them out the suspension should come out in one piece.

I spent today with a boiler maker, who taught me how to weld. I welded up a body dolly which cups around the rear torsion tube and will bolt to the front cross member position. This will give me all the clearance I need to start working on the rusted areas.

I am going to start at the rear and work forward.

Next step will be to remove the parcel shelf, weld in the required patches and then put in the rust repair panel for the parcel shelf.

    Wow,Tim,
    Way to go!
I had a look at this car twice when it was with two separate owners here in W.A. and had a feeling this car was going take a lot of effort.
Good on you for taking it on.
    Sean.

    Thanks Sean,

I would love to hear a little more about the history of this car if you know any please?

    John,

Your words just keep echoing in my ears. Every time something gets tough I just move on to something else, or walk away for a while. Its working!
