    Pomona Swap, Sun 13-Jan

When I was a pup, I used to laugh at/make fun of all the Old Fat-A$$s who had cool cars . . . but never took 'em anywhere

So --- before I turn into one? . . . time to take The Nasty Car out . . .

    Pomona --- this Sunday

    Yeah - yeah, I know - I know . . . not exactly Pebble Beach

But ever wonder what it would be like if more people took their Bugattis and Duesenbergs . . . or their Porsches . . . someplace else besides?

Anyway, we're goin' . . . yup --- even SMMTaG. Gloves, flashlights . . . maybe even get a beer before 10:00 AM. Showing the flag

Supposed to be in the 30s, too

    Hoo-WAH

When I was a pup I fondly remember coming across stalls with completely dissected Carrera Cabs, fenders, hood, deck, doors, top and interior all matching! Then the sullen seller being hauled away in hand cuffs. A chance to rub elbows with the criminal element. Pebble Beach criminals are likely hedge fund guys selling toxic assets.

    More Pomona 13-Jan . . .

Zovig was all set to go w/ me to Pomona . . . but caught the flu, over the week-end. I'd kinda down-played the whole deal, before-hand --- I love swap-meets . . . but I wanted to get there early + it was bit of a drive (in 1059) + it was gonna be cold (30s --- and she really hates getting cold). I would've enjoyed her company, but . . . she would've come --- just to be w/ me . . . so when she caught sick? . . . I made her stay

As it was, I was a bit late myself . . . didn't get in the venue 'till ~7:00

    1) Pomona breakfast . . . Trader Joe's raw-squeezed + Fiber One --- good for 3-maybe-4 hours of digestive silence. Throw in a ATM's-worth o' disposable, Ray Bans --- under-cover + all that, plus my Little Marvel --- to share/remember, and . . .

    2) . . . all I need is a way to get there. Cold-a$$ morning --- gave Nasty Car a few minutes to come up to temp. Nothing's broken here --- Euro lighting

So...? How was Pomona? It used to be The Place to get Porsche stuff, but that ended at least 5 years ago. This last weekend, I saw a Porsche shop was going out of business and hauling all their stuff there. Still not enough for me to drive 120 miles and pay $6 to park and $8 to get in (last pricing I saw) and find bupkis.
