I think it looks pretty good! x2 on tail and front lip fxn .That said, mine are on the garage wall until I go to the track again. Have fun ,looks like a great driver , paint looks decent in the pics and you wont have to worry about rock chips while you are getting it sorted. Steve

I think that you'll find the tail and spoiler weren't put on for looks. Drive it a few times at 125+ and you'll see what I mean. I do agree, that they look better with the RS flairs but, that car was very functional with the aero parts on. We built many RS "formula" cars as soon as Porsche sent us the specs (in 72) and it was a good, proven formula, even without the flairs...With that extra power you may be wanting more aero aids..

As a famous person once told me; "There is no different taste.....taste is something you have or don't."

The gearbox is pretty wound up at that speed. I won't be doing too much of that, as I'm not really a track guy. I had my SC up to around 135, 140 a few times. Didn't feel outrageous. I do appreciate that input though.

edit: I did wonder how much downforce that tail was doing though.

The ducktail reduces lift at those speeds, by a lot, cosidering that the 911's original pure shape actually lifts the car like an airfoil (wing).

I dont have a very good railing on my stairs to walk into the house either. Gets kinda sketchy when its icy. Life is full of choices.

So it seems Digk, choices, choices. My point is that contrary to your earlier thoughts, the ducktail was always more function than form. If you don't like the look, that's ok too.

also check the cork seal under the gas sender in the gas tank. Cork does not last forever. changed mine and it made a big difference on the gas smell. Chris

The only thing I didnt know was that I was going to get a headache from the fuel smell, and that the car runs like shit at cruising and idle. I'm sure I'll find other things as I go along. I didn't "gamble" nor am I whining. I'm stipulating my opinions. Just like you. I'm glad you found the time to post though. Very productive. Thank you.

Just read your post Andy, yup.
As was I. In fact, from my couch, I was jumping and high fiving. You just couldn't see it.

Picked up a bumper tonight. Going to see what I can do with it and maybe get it on this weekend. I think I sold the duck tail locally. Just need to find a deck lid and such now...

This isn't to stipulate that I'm so great or anything, just to show I'm not just blundering into something without knowing what I am getting myself into like this other guy is insinuating. I don't claim to do anything without resources, or learning and absorbing from friends....but I'm not diving into a 3 foot pool here...
