    Dan Gordon was a classmate of one of my wife's co-workers, and we drank some of G-B's first beer before their brew pub in Palo Alto opened to the public back in 1988. Gordon and Biersch are long gone from the company and restaurant chain that bears their names, but very fine beer is still brewed there. Not so sure that the 911 has been able to maintain its character over the years in quite the same way...
