The start of a few repairs to ol' rusty...

Now that all the water has drained out of my car from Bergenrennen in WV, it's time to make her a bit more water tight.

A few years ago, Curt E. used his bore scope to inspect the damage and made this video. The front pan looked good, but we'll see.

Pulled the fuel tank. Here's some shots from my disassembly today.

And another little interesting rust area. I had to repair one of these in my '72 shell. I guess water gets past the fuel filler seal?

All ready to dive in in a few weeks when I get a bit more time.

Bill- you can now buy the correct gas tank support from Restoration Design WITHOUT the bump! This will save you $$$ in fabrication time.

Ernie asked what borescope was used. Ridgid CA-300.

    Suspicions confirmed...

When I removed the gas tank, I thought the flange around the perimeter of the gas tank looked peculiar. Almost as if someone had welded the new suspension pan over the old one. Well...

And, after moving some strategically placed, smooth as glass silicone, I see this:

Guess I have to start all over again.

You can't believe how motivating Project BSF has been.

Yeah, take your time on those welds. I don't want any suspension pieces falling off at 160+ (I don't really care what happens when others are driving it, it's mainly just my ass I'm concerned with .... )
