I love that Stevie!
By the way, Damon at Series 900 is your man for lightweight panels.

Yes GT Racing AND Getty both have carbon fiber and fiberglass panels. The guy in this video said his panels were kevlar ... that's a synthetic isn't it?
I don't know of anyone who has that ... or, if there's any benefit to using it if I did... not that I would.
But I'm crazy enough to be interested.
I used to have the link to that article out of a british mag. He taped plastic sheeting to the back of the wheels somehow. The original factory process was to dip the wheels into a bucket of paint filled to the proper level.
In the article he used rustoleum pain thinned down a bit. I guess if you are going to do 4 wheels the expense of the paint would be worth it, you'ld just have to top up to the proper level after each wheel. Taping is a PITA.

I think Kevlar is just duponts brand name for carbon fibre.

I could be all wrong here, but I think DuPont Kevlar is their own, bullet proof, space age synthetic material that's unbelievably strong. (and most likely equally expensive) I can't imagine it being used for automotive body panels.
But, who knows? I think the guy in the video just said Kevlar but meant Carbon fibre
Anyway, his car is way cool... though he's a bit late don't you think?
We've been doing this stuff for a quite a while now.

I betcha 50 cents that the 1800 pound car doesn't see much rain... and another 50 cents that this man, who designs the fastest cars on the planet, knows his materials.
