You can only get so much sound out of the little dash speakers.....I have these in my '73, and they can't even come close to the output of the exhaust....get some perforated door panels from appbiz

You're suggesting Luke replace the handmade, custom-fit, chip board door panels with custom pockets and pulls and wrapped in true, German vinyl with a set of generic, over-the-counter, foam and cardboard door panels wrapped in cheap, American vinyl?

I would disagree with that recommendation if only from the standpoint that the materials won't match and will stick out like a sore thumb against the rest of the interior.

I have a very nice, correct Frankfurt for your car including knobs and hardware. Very clean dial, excellent paint still in the memory buttons. It's been tested and is guaranteed. If you're still looking, shoot me an email to matt@unobtanium-inc.com and I can get you any info you need. The price is $500. Thanks - Matt

+1 on Herman. He's done 3 radios for me. Typically I find that ebay and the bird are the best sources once you know which unit you want. Then I send them to Herman if there are any deficiencies. You'll be in for a minimum of $450 on the average.

Nope, needed a jog to my memory...what's in the front kick panels?

If you are going to hear this radio, you will need more than the dash speaker(s)

Blue tooth headphones? AND they'd double as ear muffs in the winter! Quite fetching effect, no?
