Which seems to be more difficult to get an answer than the authenticity of the car?

Porsche Salzburg is the holding company where most of the wealth resides and this is not the only family owned car that went thru Salzburg.

I can't prove something I promised not to post or share other than with the owner of the car.

If it is easier to get past this we can post evaluation of car claimed to be and ferry's car,-and value of car with adequate documentation thank you

    Raj,

If you want to 'arrive at a value' and you can not show that Ferry owned it and the authenticity of the car (the specs don't 'match' the kardex) than I see that it's hard to 'arrive at a value'. You probably need an auction to find out it's 'value' or visit the archives first and try to get a copy out of the production book so you can 'back up' what you claim. I happened to get this done last year when a friend of mine was at the archives during a factory visit.

I think an auction is the only way to go with a car like this. Set the reserve at what a good 1967 S goes for and then you'll get your answer for what the incremental value of Ferry's ownership might be. If you can't share the documentation you have, and you can't show it to anyone but the next owner, then I don't think you'll see much of an increment over the regular price.

I fully understand and respect that you may have obtained the documentation in a backdoor way and don't want to put that person "at risk". But for pricey cars, your say so, no matter how upstanding you are, won't hold much sway outside our little community here. For all intents and purposes, this is just another 1967 911S unless proven otherwise to a public audience, such as those who might bid on it at auction.

But let's get back to the question at hand. IF the provenance is correct, then what is it worth ?

I'd say 30-50% more if there was a significant relationship between Ferry and the car and pictures or other good historical documentation exists. If it just passed through his hands, doubt it is worth more than a normal '67S.

Very pretty car. I don't know how the MY thing works, but I am surprised that it's a '67, as my car, which is '68 1180002, was manufactured in July, 1967. Did they keep producing 67 cars after 68s started off the line?

    Neat car neat history

There are some oldtimers at the factory or still around Zuffenhausen who can help. Car will bring more money in Europe than the US IMHO. the Cardexs were the factory note cards of completion, and look like a rolodex they also kept track of normal cars warranty repars on them. They are not perfect. Cars sent for various upgrades were not always listed. As with any human run system, it is a good start but not tell all

There are several million photographs in the factory archives, going back to the days VW headquarters where Ferry and the origininal crew are pictured testing Schwimwagens (sic) in the mud hole next to the offices. If there is a picture of Ferry and the car or info on it it is there

The car is history and following Ferry's death in 98 and the incredible interest in the History of Early 911s over 356s
I bet it is very valuable to the right party be it the factory or collector

The Swap I just attended here in Germany was like a reunion of the old guard, and I have to say the collective experience in the room at times was a great deal more acurate than the speculation on the board

I really want to see the car but then again I am fascinated with Early S cars and the History of the Porsche family

What I found more fascinating was the quantity (+ speed!) of all the correspondence that The Faktory generated + sent after they were contacted about that Carrera Cab

That car had had several lives --- even while it was w/ Porsche . . . and regardless of how/what/where it started out . . . The Faktory was well aware of what had been done to it --- none of it on any single record. I still remember Craig telling me the story about seeing + reading the engine number . . .

My Grandfather was Lou Marable. I have a photo of the said car as it arrived in the US. He was the pilot who flew the car from Germany. He is pictured in uniform sitting in the car in front of the plane. I have more info. if you would like. Thanks, Thomas Louis Marable
