Not exactly the sorta car that I'd wanna try to build . . . let alone repair. Maybe the metal bits + drive-train are repairable, suspension, exhaust, + any of the assembly-line AUDI stuff --- bumpers + lights, etc

The problem is almost the entire structure of the car --- body-work, inner- + outer-panels, etc are hand-made/-fitted/glued-together/pre-historic CF . . . kooky limited-run bits made 2 decades, ago, so --- unless AUDI's ready to write some big checks + re-fab all that stuff, again. . . . this car's prolly a 'write-off' --- destined to donate parts for other running cars

    From the article:

"Even scuffed, the Sport is a handsome thing: square flares, purposeful vents, chunky little decklid spoiler. Charlie moves over and around the car, readjusting this and checking that with a practiced care. He's echoing the general Audi attitude—"Our carbon-and-Kevlar guy will fix it. It's basically a race car. These things happen"—and seems content with his lot of packing the car up and hauling it off after just a few minutes of action."

Fortunately it is owned by AUDI who have the talent and resources to put it back together - but I know what you mean - YIKES! The last thing anyone would want to do to one of the few out there is crash it.

I'd rather have it driven and crashed than atrophying in some museum somewhere.

Although this car is owned by Audi Sport, Germany it resides in West College Corner, Indiana (39 miles due west of Cornpanzer's house - get a tour of this place setup Dave ... what am I paying you for?! ) Kettler Motor Werks is the caretaker for this, the R8 and several other cars.

I second that! Love that S4 (?) race car in the pic. Having owned that body style for 17 years, it has really grown on me. That would be fun to have in the stable.
