    1973 911s gas tank

What is the correct gas tank for a 73 S? How about a plastic one?

Where can I find a correct one?

    Thanks for your help!

Not an expert by any means but I believe that the ROW '73 S was standard with the RS plastic gas tank while the US delivery '73S had the same tank as a T, or E. If you do choose to use an RS tank you would be wise to take precautions as the original tanks tended to leak. I suspect that the repro tanks available today have been redesigned but it's worth investigating before deciding.

Yep pretty good summary I think although I don't think the UK allowed plastic tanks at all no matter what the model at that time.

In Australia most S trimmed E models also had the plastic 85 litre tank proabably a dealer ordered option for the Ausiie cars

85 litre plastic tanks and clamps available exp porsche again these days as soon will be the protection plate foor front suspension and back of the tank

65 litre steel repro tanks are readily available

If you want correct, they are available at DC Auto or Nineapart. I got mine at the latter for a good price and then spent 400 bucks refurbishing it.

    Gary,

Which market was your car delivered into and where are you now ?
Different importers had different ordering plans as you can see.

    Cheers,
    Dennis.
