Kris, those must be late '72 911's! Notice one of the Basketball referee's (over your right shoulder) from the '72 Olympics demoted to now cleaning Porsche engine bay's.

Removed the 6 X 15 Fuchs and installed 5 1/2 X 15 Steel Wheels with new Verdestein 185/ 70 tires. Next project will be to replace the steelies with the alloy versions.

Took the 1970 911E racecar out to Willow with the POC for my first Racer's Clinic. During Friday practice the T/O bearing started to sing ... by the end of the day the bearing was howling. I spoke to my crew chief, Dad, and his advice was pretty basic, "Drive it 'til it stops."

    So I did.

I gave the car no quarter; four run sessions on Saturday and four run sessions on Sunday with multiple starts each day and a final race on Sunday. The car never missed a beat despite the awful screeching and grinding sounds every time I pressed the clutch.

Then, on Sunday night as I was loading the car onto the trailer...
