I hear/heard'ya Max.... and me, and many more for the last 28 years.....gotta loose the big bumperettes now though.
Our friend Rick Cabell even sent me a pair of good used chrome originals well over 10 years ago....
Well, last week I took Rick's and had'm replated and polished and today I took a couple of hours of John Esposito's time to mount them (I tried fitting them myself maybe 4 times in the last 10 years... with no luck... They were WAY off)
I now know because of an old none-original license panel John needed to do a little cutting, bending, hole elongating, and even a tiny bit of welding, and VOILA!!!
Yep Max..... I think you, me, and the rest were right....
Thanks Rick, and John......
Cheers

I'm a little sad myself ☹️. I think the 73's are interesting, rear only of course, bc of our one year only unique bumperets look. I have some bumperets that were powder coated black with no rubber strips. I installed them and just wasn't sure. I think the Euro 73's might have had blacked out chrome bumperets vs the US rubber. Can anyone confirm this? If true I may be inclined to try the look again.
I thought that as well Mark....I think the Euro 73's might have had blacked out chrome bumperets vs the US rubber.
However, I was informed by a early issue '73 owner that it was the early (pre-Jan.) U.S. '73's came with the all black metal bumpers until the first of the year when the U.S. cars were switched to the '73 type' rubber bumpers...

Yep... Saw an early 2 or 3 digit '73 U.S. T Targa last Thurs with black bumpers and black strips....So it is possible that a US car could have had black metal bumperets? I wonder if they would have had the rubber rub strip as well?

Cool. Once I finally get my front ugly bumperets removed I may go with the black early rears.
