Slippery slope indeed Max.....
Could have been nervous talk from some fear... I had a few of those in the car... I usually just slow down a bit...I've never met someone who could talk so much while going through the twisties.

Hmmmmmmm....... She might be a keeper...........I thought speeding up would quiet her down but it didn't seem to have an effect- she just enjoyed it more!

yes, she's in the date zone
In an effort to get this thread back on track, what do you think would be a good option for a rear bumper for me? I think the way the lower edge droops down at the flares looks wrong (heavy). It works on the 3.0RSR vented flares but going 3.0RSR is not an option. The complication is that back when these were just used cars someone cut this '71S up and put the later short nose front and rear sheetmetal.
I like the look of the continuous bumper better than the longhood style but not the "skirt" portion.

Had a nice drive on some roads that aren't as crazy as Malibu. Went up CA 150 (where Pete Conrad had his fatal motorcycle crash) to CA 33 through Ojai up to the Cuyama Valley. I pulled out and passed the slower traffic I had been cruising behind on 150 at just the right point (right before the twisty bit going down into Santa Paula, that has new pavement). It's a straight followed by a relatively sharp turn compared to what leads up to it. I think that is actually where Mr. Conrad lost control (after doing some reading). I only realized it was the turn after I had gone through it but knowing about the crash I was looking out for any tricky turns so while I entered at a high rate of speed I braked appropriately. The weather was beautiful, a nice cool breeze, a bit gusty on the top of the mountain. I didn't have anyone in front of me from the Matilija turnoff to the Cuyama Valley. Ended up going further than I had planned since things were so nice.
And since you are all probably going to ask, I invited the redhead and she wanted to go but was hosting a friend from out of town so couldn't go.

Temperature hit high 40s with sunshine here in Montana. I couldn't help myself, so I took the car out of hibernation and went for the first drive since fall. A bit too much gravel and dirt on the roads, but it felt great. And everything seems to work, unlike the year when one of my brake calipers froze up over the winter.
A good day. I really need to move to a warmer climate.
