I can ignore banners and solicitations, but I cannot ignore the fact that this website has gone from an A+ experience to, at best, a B-. It only gets that grade because the content is so amazing! One of the great pleasures of my day is keeping up with the new posts here, but for the last month it has been a p.i.t.a. to do that because of all the pauses between page loads. If I am reading a multi-page thread, I frequently want to toggle back and forth between an earlier post and later post. Now I am afraid to do it because I may lose my train of thought before I get back to the later post! Not good.
I was trained to offer a solution when you saw a problem, but website hosting and maintenance are too technical for me. What I can do is offer more money. I would gladly pay more to have a better navigating experience if that can be done.
Rant over.
Jim

It's been very slow for me over the past few days. A bit faster now but still glacial in comparison to most forums. Took about 20 seconds to load this page without big photos. 30 seconds to post a "quick reply".

The last two days, I just gave up and said forget it, then checked out other sites...
It seems to be OK now, but...
