What about European Carrera's in USA ? Are they interesting? Think they were not sold in the states, correct ?

they were not sold herer in the US but some enthusiast would travel to Germany, buy one, drive it around and then ship it home to the US.

recently at a Cars &Coffee I was exchanging stories with a veteran Porsche enthusiast and he was telling me how he bought a 73 RS when new, drove it around Europe for a month and sent back here in California where he drove it for a while and told me he could not get $7k for it so he put it in storage until 1980 when a neighbor asked if he'd take $30K for it ..he was happy then...probably not so happy now as the car is worth what $300K today? It was really great to hear a first hand account from someone who was there at the time when these cars were new and get a sense of what it was like when 73 RS's were not so coveted. thanks for those stories Greg Gustavson, you probably already talked to him if you ever ordered from Sierra Madre Collection on the phone. Heck of nice guy!
