To reinforce that point around the Orange, the first time I went to the Porsche Museum, I was watching the 911 2.8 RSR, and I do remember Orange. The 936 is defintly red and 2,1 RSR is rather red also. I do not have the pictures close to me, need to search them.

in the mean time, here is a Movie from Porsche about this RSR : enjoy

According to Bacardi who owns Martini&Rossi, the correct Pantone colors are:

    LIGHT BLUE (pantone 297)
    DARK BLUE (pantone 295)
    RED (pantone 185)

    Ciao,

Apparently, you can now purchase a whole Martini graphics decal kit here:

    reviving an old thread.

I'm building a replica of the Martini liveried Targa Florio car and am trying to find out the exact color scheme.
The Martini-Rossi registered colours are not the same as that were on the 1971 917 and 1973 RSR cars. It looks as if the more recent (Williams) colors are made to 'pop' on a white background.

I've sampled numerous pictures from last years 'Goodwood Festival of Speed', Mike Moore's restoration of #107, other early 911s registry pictures, restoration pictures of R6, etc,
but as you can see, there is still no universal view on the light blues and the red:

    Name: martini.JPG
Views: 6681
Size: 28.6 KB

the first example is the average of 10 pictures from last years FoS, the second from 7 of mike Moore's pictures, etc.

So other than the tips and responses of the earlier thread, which I all tried to follow, is there anyone out there that knows what the 1973 Martini colors exactly are/were?
    thanks!

Maybe Rob Powell can help - he worked at Weissach from 1979 to 1990 designing livery and other things - very interesting stories and posts lots of archival photos from the early 70's on the Classic Porsche Australia Facebook page.
