    Heater Flapper Red Paint?

Have any of you refinished these and what red did you use? I removed them from my silver car and have completely disassembled them for a clean up and repaint. I have a red caliper paint now, but it is way off on shade. Not that anyone will really care since they will never be seen, but I would like to make an attempt to get it as close as possible. Any suggestions? Will the standard Kryon paint stand up to the heat that goes through them?

Anal, I know... What can I say?

Scott it is all in the detail. We went as far as mixing our own powder coat colour just for this job. We also use it on the rear torsion bars which are the same colour. You can't even see those but we still coat them the correct colour, many say anal but the devil (when permitted) is in the detail.
Not the best pics, but they may help

Here´s how mine came out, might be a little brighter than stock but it´s close enough for an amateur like me. I used an acrylic aerosol by Duplicolor, used it before and it holds up well.

The early vent version like Jesse's should be more red like in the pic above, than the later and more common style as in my pics.

Scott, try a red primer with a satin clear coat. I think I used VHT paint. Came out real close.

I took one of mine to a local autobody paint/supplies store. She matched the color and mixed up an aerosol rattle can for me. I suspect that you could do the same. Cost was $15 or $18.

You might try your local automotive paint store and have them match for the original color.

Thanks guys. All great suggestions. I do believe that I will go with the red oxide primer and a clear coat.
