    1968 911 rear deck Porsche letters

    Can somebody let me know what the correct finish is.........or are they anodized like the grill?

    My ' California delivered '68 has an original silver "911".

    When you say lights, do you mean the 68 MY reflectors? Was that something that occurred in CA delivered cars? I've got a 68 CA car that doesn't have them but shows traces of an installation.

    my 68 was a CA car and doesnt have them either........maybe they were deleted after the fact?

    All U.S. MY 1968 911/912 were equipped with side marker lights. RoW 1968 911 were not equipped with side marker lights. Either PO removed the side marker lights or you have a non U.S. car.

    my 1967 delivered (68MY) ROW 911L ( delivered new to Australia) has gold lettering.

    Per factory parts manual, the gold "PORSCHE" was applicable to "911, 911(USA),911L, 911S." from chassis number 305101. The 'Chrome' letters were for "911TU, 912." My books are only SWB cars.
