If it was originally a Japanese market car it would be RHD.

Interestingly, no. Even now almost every new 911 delivered in Japan is LHD. It has been a long tradition in Japan that expensive and prestigious import cars are left hand drive so the rest of the population know the owner has an expensive import as all the JDM cars are right hand drive. That said, many of the early 911's in Japan are later imports. This particular car appears to have been imported in the late 1970's. Accordingly the lighting configuration etc could be anything including Italian as the front turn signals on this one appear to be. The car sold by the way although I'm not aware of the price.

    Cheers,

Cool your jets guys. JPY4,000,000 was the start bid. Given a decent T Targa failed to sell at JPY10,500,000, I seriously doubt this would have gone for anything like the start price. Mind you, a sepia S sold for JPY7,600,000 the other week.

    From owner description:

"An extremely special vintage porsche. This is a 1972 911 S restored to ST specs with many unobtainable parts. This car was restored to concours quality to be a world class show winner or the most exiting early 911 you can drive on the road. This special porsche has been featured in several publications including an article in the well known porsche magazine Excellence titled “silver lining” in Nov 2009 when the car was completed. The car has been properly stored in a climate controlled facility since.
Only very few break in miles on the car since completion, however it was recently given a full comprehensive service. In addition to the magazine article the 3 part video series below also details the history and restoration of the car."

I produced the video series on this car. It is a spectacular build. It is a very raw sports purpose car. TRE did the work.
