    Engine: 6332006

    UK Registration: SBU 823
    Mileage: -
    Color: -
    Auction Estimate: £115,000 - 130,000/~US$175,000 - 197,000
    Auction Description:

    Supplied new by Beverly Hills Porsche to a California surgeon on the 1st of July 1973, this left-hand drive example was ordered with an extensive range of factory extras including electric sunroof, black leather Recaro seats, limited slip differential, 5 speed gearbox, electric windows, spot lamps, sports suspension with Koni shock absorbers, tinted glass, and a Blaupunkt radio.
    The car stayed with its original owner right up until 2002 when it was sold to a Seattleite and between 2003 and 2005 underwent detailed work, including a complete brake overhaul, engine work and new door pockets.
    This lovely car returned to California in 2007 where further meticulous improvement commenced. The documentation with the car shows work in excess of $25,000 for a complete engine and transmission rebuild, new body rubbers, new coconut mats, and a rebuilt fuel injection pump.

    A Belgian Porsche specialist found the car in 2010 and arranged to purchase and export it to Europe where it was registered and maintained until its sale to the current owner in 2012. It was then that the car was shipped to England, where it was registered with the number SBU 823 and the headlamps were converted to UK specification. Since then regular servicing has kept the vehicle in favourable condition.

    The original service book and drivers handbook come with the car, together with numerous bills for work carried out over the years.
    There are further bills from the US for brake overhauls, recovering Recaro seats, and refurbished Fuchs wheels.The standard steering wheel has been replaced with a period Prototipo model, however the original wheel is in excellent condition and comes with the car.
    SBU 823 has lots of the attributes of a 911 RS at considerably less cost. With a sympathetic rebuild behind it and all the right factory fitted extras this 911S resonates with all the qualities of the quintessential air-cooled Porsche. A Porsche in its purest form and is a true collectors car indeed.

    Seattlelite? LOL!

    Tom,
    Seattleite is different than "Seattlelite".

    One is a Seattle local, the other is... well... still someone who lives in Seattle but drives a Prius.

    Keno Brothers Fine Automobile Auctions are honored to be able to offer one of the very first 911S’s to be imported into the USA in 1973. This was the 17th car built, making it one of the rare examples to have come from the factory with black bumperettes. A superb example restored from the ground up by Phil Bagley of Porsche Klub Sport Racing in Florida. This early 911S is ready to be a perfect driver or show-stopper. If you have been searching for one of the earliest 911S to be imported to the USA, here is one of the best.

    119300100 - 69S Coupe - Tangerine

    no affiliation.

    on Ebay. located in Alberta Canada
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/131637599182

    Bidding is up to $82k with 5 days left on auction. No reserve.

    VIN = 119300100
    Engine = 6390415* - 901/10 - 18100
    Tangerine

    *Seller states in ad he is ordering a COA to see if engine is original. From my research/guesstimate, the engine is very much out of sequence with other coupes in close proximity VIN wise, but well in range for some S Targas that came off the line around the same time as this coupe probably did.

    Ad copy:

    1969 Porsche 911S with only 69763 miles. The car was imported from Germany in 1986 to Norden Autohaus. Authorized Porsche dealer in Edmonton Alberta. The car was purchased for $14900. in 86' The car's mechanical is all rebuilt and all numbers matching. Same owner since 1986. We have all the receipts for the work done. All work at Karmac auto in Edmonton. Injector pump was just repaired and the six carburators were set up by a previous porsche engineer who knows the 911. We have ordered a COA for the car. Vin number is 119300100. engine number 6390415 casing number 901/10 18100 903644# on the engine. There are so many receipts and such low km's on the car. The car was repainted about 15 years ago. Paint is good, but some orange peel can be seen on the drivers side door. We had all the chrome painted black. Red tangerine is base/clear. Some chips on the front end. Undercarriage is good. The lower rocker panel at the front shows some bubble rust on the drivers side. Slight wheel well flares were added to the rear. Under neath the flares, the original fender are there and intact. Where the flares was added on, there are slight paint nibs that stick out. Every 12 inches, 6 per side. There hard to see and soft circular dots about 1/8 inch in size but can be seen if your looking for them. The car has a momo porche steering wheel, front seats are from a newer porsche with mesh headrests. Seats that cradle your body into the seat. The rims are not porsche. All else is original. Cast steel pipes on the carburators. Will supply some pictures of the undercarriage soon. We were planning to repair the body but never started. Please email for more information or pictures. Door panels are all original, dash is good, gauges all work. Very nice interior. Will supply the actual pictures of the engine numbers soon.

    Over $32000 in receipts in the last 20 years. Rebuilt engine, front end, brakes, torsion bars, paint, etc. These are the receipts that we found in the filing cabinet. Karmac maybe be able to produce more history. We will also be selling a 1970 911. The car has also been sitting for years in the garage. An auto accident over 10 years ago has forced me to pull these out and sell them.

    On Oct-30-15 at 16:34:08 PDT, seller added the following information:
    The car was originally signal orange. Check the vin plate in the pictures. When the car was painted in 1991, they used some white flexible undercoat underneath the sills. The flexible filler is tapered. Behind the front wheel the undercoat is coming off some. Water has leaked into the rocker panel causing the bubble rust at the front of the sills as mentioned earlier. The door latch is cracked on both sides. There is seam sealer from 1991 in the wheel wells where the metal comes together. Seam sealer is used to seal the metal to metal joints. I think it's fine behind that area. The floors are strong and not rusted. No problems with the rails were seen. The hood is the factory one with the signal orange showing up underneath the black paint. Some tiny weld marks are showing and looking further, the wiring is there for the lights that were once mounted on the hood of the car. Rear bumper is metal with some parts painted black as shown. The front bumper is fibreglass. The extended fireglass rear flares were added but the rear quarters were actually cut more than I thought. Rear quarters would need to be added, the rockers would need replacing. Carpeting and interior is good. The dash was replaced in 1991 and in good condition. The front floor pan looks good. There's a seam at the front of the bottom trunk pan. It isn't a one piece but maybe it's factory. Its not a one piece from under the front bumper to the end of the front trunk area. The engine has some gasket leaks on the outboard side. The large gasket coverplate that covers the timing chain. We replaced them years ago, but they started to drip. There is a plate in the engine area of the car. Will get some information from it. It's in german but I haven't seen this plate before and neither have my friends. Maybe a autoclub plate but its screwed into the rear lip engine area and painted red. It's also in German. It may have no significance. The roof liner is tight and not sagging, color is good. The mileage is in kilometers, not miles. Will load more pictures, please email,call or text. Rims are BBS wheels. (780) 222 6265

    Q: 1) Have you any documentation that proves car was originally registered in Germany? 2) Have you received the COA? 3) What is the original paint code from plaque on driver's side A pillar? 4) Is black the original interior color? 5) Can you enlarge on "Underneath the flares, the original fender are there and intact." How do the wider rims fit if the original fenders are still in place? Has part of them been cut off/out? 6) I presume the car is in Alberta? - Correct? 7) Can you please post photographs of sills, plus front and rear suspension mounting points showing no corrosion. Thanks. Oct-27-15
    A: 68-6809-G is the colour. We haven't received the coa yet. The rear has been lifted up and the flares were installed. I'm thinking that pictures will be on line by Friday. Interior was originally black. From memory, the metal wasn't cut on the rear wheel flares and I looked at them again a few months ago. They sit about an inch away from the Fiberglas ones and about 2 inches higher inside. I believe they haven't been cut out. They are perfectly round like they would of been. The documentation, I'm not sure how to figure this out but maybe Norden the Porsche dealer might have documents. Will do some online searching to see if the car was from there or somewhere else. the Porsche initially shows up at Norden autohaus in 1986, and sold in October. The car was not in Canada previously and I assumed the car came from Germany. That was a long time ago thou. Very good questions. I still have most of the documents. Will research 780 222 6265

    Auction Description:

    'BJH 133L' is a matching numbers, original right-hand drive UK 2.4S registered on the 23rd March 1973 and was purchased by the long term owner, just prior to our vendor, some 30 years ago. The odometer shows 35,000 miles and documents substantiate it to be a warranted 135,000.

    From 1999-2010, this stunning 911 was subjected to a full nut and bolt restoration and bare metal respray in its original colour of 'Hellgelb' by Moto Technique in Sussex. The black leatherette Recaros were recovered and the salt and pepper carpets replaced. The engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt by BS Motorsport in Wescott Buckinghamshire and since then has covered a mere 1500 miles.

    Supplied with a detailed history containing, invoices and photographic evidence of the restoration, the original books and spare keys, "BJH 133L" presents exceptionally well. A true investment that should not be ignored at today's guide price.

    '. . . Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this stunning 1968 Porsche 911S Targa. Tangerine over black; COA confirms original color and numbers-matching engine. Fresh from an extensive but sympathetic restoration in our shop, this example is very correct, including rare "elephant" interior and all of the '68 and S-specific details intact. Collectors prize the '68 S for a number of reasons, not the least of which is scarcity -- Porsche only manufactured 442 '68 S Targas, none of which went to the U.S. It's also the final year for the short wheelbase. Chassis number 11850132 was completed in 11/67 and fitted with engine 4180069 (which is a rare early '68 aluminum case). The car just saw a glass-out repaint finished to a concours standard; gaps are excellent and floor pans are original. We started with a straight, dry west coast car then fully disassembled it for a photo-documented nut-and-bolt restoration (note in particular photos of the floors stripped to bare metal before German Wurth undercoating was applied). Seals, gaskets and many fasteners are new, but much of the hardware was carefully reconditioned and reinstalled -- our philosophy is to preserve as much of the original car as possible. Lenses, trim, horn and engine grilles are in good original condition. Euro headlights with "city lights" plus Hella fogs. Period Amco bars. Rebuilt Targa top. New Vredstein sprint classics on date-correct (10/67) Fuchs refinished by Al Reed. Interior retains original dash and door panels in very good condition; refinished wood wheel, restored gauges, period (and working) Blaupunkt. Mechanically well sorted, this 911 saw a complete suspension and brake overhaul when the car was reassembled after paint. Shocks, bushings, ball joints, tie rods, brake rotors, pads and calipers are all new or rebuilt. Original numbers-matching 2.0 liter S engine has correct accessories including relay panel, distributor, etc. Fresh service including valve adjustment. The car was born as a Sportomatic; at some point decades ago the Sporto was swapped out for a 901 five-speed manual (serial number 7112080). A worthy addition to any collection finished in a spectacular original color. For more information about this 1968 Porsche 911 S Targa for sale at Motorcar Studio in Atlanta, please call 404-692-5250 . . .'
