I've seen a photo of the remains of a clip/piece/section of an RSR tub that was utterly destroyed. There were numbers on it.

Surprised it does not state 'mechanically sound' - there must be something wrong with the brakes.

From post #34 in the thread (below) . . .

. . . Hello everyone, I am the the person selling the "S" this thread is about. Let me first tell you I am very happy to have found this forum and have very much enjoyed reading your post. I actully found this site when looking for inforamtion about the value of this car. I am getting lots of offers to buy the car and do not really know what is a good price.

I did want to speak to the "flooding" issue. I can assure you the car has never been flooded. My father is good friends with the previous owner (2nd owner) and remembers the car when it was purchased from the original owner (who was in the army and dad thinks he bought the car while stationed in Germany). The car really started to go down hill when the second owner stored it outside (5-8 years we think?). All of the seals are bad on the car and it leaks some kind of bad. In fact, when I washed it before taking the pictures, there was water all over the place just from the hose. Dad said when he bought the car is was very moist and even had some water standing it the passenger floorboard. Anyways, he kept the car in the garage or covered (for the 12 years or so he has owned it) expecting to restore it once he retired...but with the cancer, that will never happen. So now we sell the car.

I am surprised to learn about the interest in this car. I had no idea it was desirable or had much value at all. I actually just thought we may get a few thousand for a parts car or something. I have been blown away by the offers I have recieved. One of them is so good, I am tempeted to take it, especially after reading your comments.

I do have a question for you porsche experts if you do not mind. One of the potential buyers wants me to photograph the motor and transmission number. I found the number on the motor and it matches the invoice number but I cannot find the number on the transmission. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thank you so much. I have enjoyed your forum very much.
