    Engine looks surprisingly complete.
Original color unclear, but ad references copper brown metallic
Front latch panel could be patched in.

No telling what this really is.

This 1971 Porsche 911 S Targa is finished in special order Albert Blue with Beige/Tan Leather.

This is Targa # 702 of 788 produced in 1971.

Sold new on June 29, 1971 at Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida with 23 miles.

    Engine number 6311729
    Case number 911/02

Restored back to its original colors and color matched to its factory original paint color. The car was stripped to bare metal and sprayed using correct single stage paints, as used at the factory.

    Original floors.

All rubber seals replaced on the body. Brand new Sigla Windshield installed, all new deco moldings. New bumper guards. New badging, window trim and seals, factory Porsche targa seal, door seals. Correct metal front bumper.

The interior has been completely recovered in tan leather as per the COA; a new carpet kit installed. The seats were gone through and sorted while being reupholstered. A new dash was fitted and looks fantastic. A new correct dash speaker is wired to the restored correct 1971 Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. All the gauges were freshly restored and refinished where needed by Seattle Speedometer. The clock works!

A new 400mm wood steering wheel was installed and the factory butterfly horn button was refreshed and installed. When you hit that horn button you hear that blast from the dual trumpet horns. Turn signals work nicely, however the return in one direction does not work. The windshield squirters and wipers work nicely and all the washer system is new from the bottle to the squirter. The ignition switch was rebuilt and works as new. Hazard lights work. Headlight switch works great as do all the lights down to the dome light from both doors. Also the little map light.

The doors have been gone through, windows roll up and down nicely on both sides. On the passenger side the window towards the very top is a little stiff. Doors lock and unlock smoothly and open and close nicely. The doors have been fitted with the now impossible to get new nice fitting door pockets from Germany. The targa top has been rebuilt using the correct materials.

    New Interstate 911 special batteries.

Brand new fuel tank, Porsche fuel pump (on the body) and fuel lines are new. The MFi is in good condition. Fuel filer counsel had been cleaned and new fuel filter installed.
The engine on the car is sound. No smoke. Very dry. Recent valve adjustment. Cams were checked and valve covers resurfaced. Fuel system was set up and tuned along with the ignition, brand new fuel injectors installed too. A new muffler and MFi heat exchanger was correctly painted (Stoddard exhaust paint) and installed. The work was done by David Loop here on the Monterey Peninsula. He also did the brakes, which consisted of sorting the calipers, redoing the emergency brake, installing new pad, rotors and lines at all 4 wheels and bleeding and adjusting. He also installed new 930 tie rods to improve the steering the response and feel. A new speedometer cable, transmission ground strap, battery ground straps along with various other tasks.

A new engine to body gasket was installed.

    Factory options:

    - US Equipment
    - Blaupunkt Radio Frankfurt (US Band)
    - Air Conditioning
    - Tinted Glass All Around
    - Pirelli Tires

Rare and highly desirable H1 Headlights.

All 5 correct wheels were refinished by Wheel Dynamics and done in the correct 1971 two step anodizing. They are fitted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, sporting new Porsche lug nuts and new Porsche center caps (except the spare).

The books, tools, spare and jack will be presented to the new owner.
