Could be. Holding back all the basic details in an online ad is just a tactic to engage.

    Auction Description:

    • Exceptional opportunity – never publicly offered at auction
    • Documents include Porsche Certificate of Authenticity
    • Accompanied by original manuals, tools, service records, and more
    • Excellent driving example of a Porsche legend; matching engine and gearbox
    • Very well-presented and preserved long-term, West Coast vehicle

According to the Certificate of Authenticity issued Porsche Cars North America, this rare and very special 1969 Porsche 911S Coupe was factory-finished in Stuttgart with Light Ivory paint over black leatherette upholstery and optional equipment including a Blaupunkt New York radio, complete with antenna and loudspeaker. Producing 170 factory-rated horsepower at 6,800 engine revolutions, the legendary Type 901/10 "S" engine (Number 6390419) is mated to a Type 901 five-speed manual gearbox (Number 7191510). Both the engine and gearbox are the vehicle’s matching numbers units and correspond to the numbers listed on the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, and both have been overhauled. A Dansk high-performance exhaust system delivers additional power with a sweetly enhanced soundtrack. The body panels are also believed original to the car, which has been based in the Pacific Northwest since at least 1980. Other highlights of this outstanding 1969 Porsche 911S include a very well-presented interior with nicely restored instruments and upgraded black leather upholstery, plus an exceptional dash and storage pockets.

As offered, this exceptionally well-maintained and presented 1969 Porsche 911S Coupe is a strong performer with the fuel injection system checked and gone through, the five-speed gearbox delivers outstanding, positive shift action with none of the usual synchronizer issues present in lesser examples, and all systems functioning properly and as they should. A slightly lowered suspension heightens the already renowned handling prowess of this 911S. In addition to the Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche confirming original data are two binders of documents containing service records dating to 1979. Other desirable items include original manuals and tools. A sound and solid, high-quality example with matching numbers, this exceptional 1969 Porsche 911S simply “ticks all the boxes” for a truly outstanding classic Porsche worthy of continued preservation and enjoyment.
