Thread: 911S/911L Cars for Sale

  1. #801

    9111310024

    I've seen this at:

    http://www.orlandoclassiccars.com/sh....php?v_id=1461

It's listed as going up for sale at the Mercum Austion LOT F83 (83rd car in sale on Friday Jan 24th).

    http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...3&entryRow=334

The lack of information concerns me and the mistakes: It's listed as a 1971 but the description calls it a 1969?

I'd look this one over in person, very very carefully imo.

Are you saying that the last digits need to match?
Mine has the original engine and they do not match. I've owned the car since new so I can personally attest to this. In fact the engine is 68 digits ahead.

No. Numbers almost never match. One engine line, two chassis lines mean the engine number is eventually 1.6 to 2X the chassis number when there are 2 chassis styles. Only chance for a match would be in the first few units.

Quote: More than half of the people sending messages say that my car is a 911 not S. As I mentioned from the start, I am not a collector or even a car enthusiast. I loaned money was not repaid and ended up with this car. Please use all of the numbers I have put on this listing and verify for yourself if it is an S or not. I don't want any misrepresentation but I also know that not everyone who bids or messages has an interest in making the price of the car go up.

Also, the best market in the world is Europe. There must have been something I overlooked in the listing because I will certainly help any buyer to send this car wherever they want so long as it is their costs and the payment

    for the car is safe."

Really nothing to go on 'aw shucks, I'm not an expert, but...' If you read carefully, the floor seems to be patched with flat sheet metal. No pic of engine nor suspiciously 'flared' rear quarters. Seller says he got it as a debt payment. Do you feel lucky?
