Very cool. Fantastic body gaps! Interesting that it has the front bumper lead weight. Engine bay wiring possible aftermarket CDI? The thrill of discovery.

    Very Nice.

Just curious: Why is left front fender removed?

One can only guess. I'm kind of glad he did because it exposes some very cool details, of which, I will photograph. The original owner was a bit "off center". The engine was removed in '76 for a clutch replacement and it never got put back together.

    Regards

I bought a basket case 2.0 914 years ago that had been parked because of a fuel leak. 4 months after it was parked the engineer/owner of the car had it in a thousand pieces.

What a stroke of good fortune that this car has had the engine out since '76, otherwise it would have been sold decades ago and would be in the UK right now. At least the owner kept most everything together. (BTW: If you need a '65 left fender I have one.)

Thanks for the offer, but the fender is with the car. There are some very interesting details.
Note the hand painted black paint on the back edge of the fender and in the well behind the horn grille. The fenders, obviously get painted before installation on the car Also look at the cowl seal. It is a piece of, folded, vinyl, not plastic. It is the same material as used in the interior. This may be old news to some but I have never noticed that before. Also look at the stamped numbers in the headlight bucket. I guess they didn't car too much about getting the stamp right. It looks like is says 300 but is really says 366. More to come. I would be more than happy to take photos on any part of this car. Just let me know what you want to see.

    Regards

    Jim

    Wow. Nice metal.

My fender is a 4 hole style horn grill anyway.

Jim, I would be very interested to see the bottom part of the gold decal on the lid shock. There should be a date code on there. Thanks for sharing this rare original car.

    Here you go

It won't hold the hood up. Imagine that!
