Another Introduction and a new 911S owner

I've just joined up and wanted to say hello to all that frequent on here.
A very good friend has been trying to talk me into buying an early 911 for a very long time. More so with a view to building a race car, 1965 vintage. I was not going to buy into this until I had actually had the opportunity to drive one. It has come close several times, but as yet I still have not yet driven one and in truth I have never driven a swb 911.
I have owned, raced and driven quite a few 911's over the past 20 years but the swb has so far alluded me. However last Saturday he made me an offer that was very hard to refuse. Yesterday I went to see the car and we shook hands on the deal. The car requires a complete restoration. A project that will probably take 2 to 3 years to come to fruition. I am in no rush. I have waited what seems like an age to drive a swb 911 so another couple of years will not matter although I think I might actually get to drive one this year.
It will be a road car with maybe a half cage for the odd event.
So I am pleased as punch with my newly acquired rhd 1966 2 litre S Coupe. A numbers matching car that will be repainted in its original light ivory.
    kind regards to all,
    Graeme

JohnT had his vintage 68 race car for sale a while back. It is a 912 but it is a track car with a racing motor and set up for a professional.

    Hello Graeme

Congrats on the new car. You have bought something very rare. I am in the UK and I wonder what part of the world you are in? I have a database of rhd 67S models (I have one myself) and I would be interested to have details of your car to see if it is on my list (I doubt it). There are only 5 roadworthy examples in the UK with another two under restoration. Two of the five 'on the road' are light ivory. If your car is not on my list I would then have 19 known cars on my list with rumours of another two (not confirmed as yet) worldwide.

If you feel happier sending details offline please pm me. Chassis number, engine number and a possible picture would be nice if you feel like sharing. You say '66' so it must be an early chassis number.

    Many thanks

    Regards
    Mike

Thank you for the warm welcome guys. It is certainly going to be an adventure and I am sure that the earlySregistry will be an invaluable sorce of help and information .
Nice to see my old mate Phil on here.
Pictures will have to follow. Can't help with the engine number at the moment. But the chassis number is 306412S. I am also UK based so I would be interested to know if this car is on your list Mike
