Scotty have you by any chance compared it as well to (for instance) the sample in the sales man book?
Can you do it for polo red as well?

1: I don't have a " salesman book " to compare to, but FWIW, the chip books I do have for more modern cars...they are a close aproximation. Some are actual spray outs of the color, others are "close enough"
2: I'm a whore, I'll do anything if you pay me LOL ....Yes, this is not the first, nor will it be the last time I have had to hand match a color, be it a factory color, or in the case of one of my own cars; almost, but not quite factory. For my 68 Chrysler I found a Ford color that was ALMOST what I wanted but not perfect. We played around with it a bit and got it to what I wanted. I deal with the People I do because they are the best in the area, and will bend over backwards to make sure I get what I need. There are 4 main suppliers in my area. I have dealt with all of them, and for almost 15 years have used the ones I do almost exclusively. As much as I hated to do it, I even switched from Spies Hecker to PPG when they made the move

Looking good, did he bring down Ron Davis or someone else?
What a great color!

Nice job! Here's my interpretation, out in the light of truth. Your last shot looks indistinguishable, at least on this 9" amber monitor I scrounged out of a B52. . .

And,
a Spectacular example at that !
Stood and admired this car in the prep area, and again at the lawn and during judging, and I was virtually blown away by its color and presentation........
GREAT Effort, and a pleasure to talk with you and photo up your car at Parade .

Scotty,
It's tough and you are right about the Glasurit out of the box-- too much gray. I have seen other cars that have way too much yellow out in the light of truth. Achieving that balance took about a dozen test cards, observed under a variety of conditions-- bright sun, overcast, fluorescent-- until what you see above was achieved. Call it the luck of the Irisch?

The owner has put the last year into every inch of the car and turned out a real stunner. He did everything to the highest degree and this was evident today. He debuted the car at it's first real show and took first in 356 class, first overall in the Porsche class, and scored 259 out of a possible 260 points. I felt like a proud foster parent. Congrats to Dan and his Irish green dream !!
