Building these cars is a real joy. The early Carrera gave me the inspiration for the oil line shield’s.

Here are a few other pictures which I’ve enjoyed. Each shows “learning curve” issues. The B/W photos were taken on J. Lane speed plates (glass plates rated 25 ISO). I’m unsure about the film used on the color photo, but believe it is Adox Color Mission 200.

I only recently discovered this thread tucked away under "off topic" and just completed flipping through all 102 pages. I enjoyed both the photos and the commentary.
This group might enjoy Lollipop, a photo magazine featuring F1 pictures taken on a Graflex 4x5 camera. Here is a link and below is a sample photo: https://www.lollipop-gp.com/DSC_1973.jpg

This is a great thread.
Two near identical photos. I've grown way too lazy in my day to post-process. Sorry.
The funny thing as a LWB and RS clone owner is I identify much more with the 964 than the SWB. In the context, the SWB is a clear kissing cousin of the 356, whereas a few years later, you have an aesthetic lineage that is clear up until the 964s.

Version 2 - only the slightest difference in input, but an entirely different photo. Amazing what good glass will do.

A study in perspective: 24mm vs. 50mm lenses on full frame Nikon D850 (all images at f1.4). I much prefer the 50mm perspective in this case, but it was a tad too long for cars that were hemmed in by other cars or walls. I think I'll be adding a 35mm or 40mm to my collection in the future. I started out with a superzoom (very handy for hikes and walking around but the slow aperture is a drawback) and I used to just crop my composition how I wanted by turning the zoom ring, never thinking about stuff like this.
Having introduced myself to the wide-aperture, quality glass world I don't know how I got along shooting everything at f/8 (the superzoom isn't very sharp and shooting f/8 meant I could keep a constant aperture while zooming) I have to echo RickWhite's comments. Subject separation is a powerful tool, though I do think I overuse it sometimes now. Having everything in focus definitely teaches you good composition!
