    Out-&-About . . .

Took-off for a week-end in the Sequoias, expecting to relax (yes), see some trees (oh, hell yes), decompress (Zovig and her Ungrateful Offspringlette were sick, so . . . no)

Not expecting to see so many Longhoods just --- out-&-about . . .

    Anybody here?

    Homebrewed . . .

Saw this on the way to Sequoia --- coupla weeks back. Almost forgot

I like this kinda buggy --- total left-brain/Mechanics Illustrated stuff. Wheels discs + rear spats-cum-sponsons look like Bonneville-issue. Could de-bumpify that bodywork, some --- might I suggest ditching the sheet-tin + switching over to something in fiberglass? . . . but I could see stripping every last bit of trim + ICE outta the inside o' this kinda car, belly-panning the underside, fitting a set of Hyundai-spec'd run-flats

Outsides look vaguely GM. Love to peek under the hood, too

Anyway --- I just caught sight of this at the I-5/Hwy 99 split, so . . . only managed this one shot before we headed-off

    100 + MPG + Marine sticker?

It's a Geo Metro. Motor is nothing special. Inline 3. See him often around here. I hear he did the aluminum bodywork for some speed channel show.

As seen at Victoria Gardens, out in Rancho Cucamonga, coming back from PCA's 50 Years of 911 Show, out in Fontana . . .

'59 Impala . . . back when GM could afford to re-do body styles every year!

    Most Excellent Supreme . . .

    Well . . . it may not've started-out that way, but --- it's a parking lot, now . .

    I have to admit . . . I do love good car wreck. I think of/treat them forensically, as in . . . .

    . . . WTF were you thinking?

This one almost deserves a caption contest

I mean . . . this Genius took a perfectly normal/quiet/lightly-traveled Real Housewives of Orange County-type suburban feeder street --- at what looks like about a buck-plus (!) . . . then managed to un-stick his AUDI Quattro, leave a good 200+ feet of skid-marks, ricochet off a light pole . . . and NOT die!

For this display of surviving an almost total lack of car skills, I bestow upon you the title of . . .

    Most Excellent Supreme Master Driver

    Now go buy a Lotto ticket . . .

    Mustang SVO

Caught this one outside, parked out on the street, over the week-end . . .

    Ford Mustang SVO = Special Vehicle Operations . . . '84 - '86

Pre-Tuner turbo four. Long before STis, EVOs --- even Audi's 20v 1.8t . . . Ford'd come-up with their own take on big power/small displacement. Prolly the neatest/weirdest version of the venerable Fox-platform 'Stangs

    More, here . . .
