Audi Coupé S
I honestly though this was a FIAT when I first saw it . . .
. . . and also --- I honestly don't remember ever seeing one o' these --- or anything like it . . . before

More Coupé S
The really amazing thing is, that . . . . it looks like everything's there! Front bumper may be a bit pushed in, but . . . can you imagine rolling into an Audi store + requesting parts/service for something like this? Where in the world would you ever find anything for something like this? Motor may be something vaguely VWAG-ish . . . but how 'bout those hubcaps?
Thank (your deity here) for Mr Peich
I'll go back for some better shots. Sunrise was coming in through the sides of the parking structure . . . and me/camera have a real hard time w/ that kinda light
1969 or early '70s 2-door fastback version of Audi 100 4-door sedan sold in U.S.

. . . as seen street-side in Ventura, a few weeks back . . .
this model was used as a test mule for the 928 drive train

and the audi designers had one of this in the studio when they designed the A7--for inspiration
. . . Hollis, OK
OK --- over the parking lot, anyway
I just wonder how the heck this thing got way out here all the way from France
'. . . what a long strange trip it's been . . .'
. . . in the parking lot @TLG
Almost never see these cars, any more --- the plain-Jane/non-GTi version. Not a popular car, back then --- more of a shock than a revelation, at first . . . especially since it displaced VW's own iconic-but-obsolete Bug . . . and right around the time of the post-Viet Nam recession/Watergate/Oil Embargo/'stag-flation'/etc/etc. Can't imagine many survived, either
And --- like The Times it came from . . . kinda forgotten
Looks straight-enough --- and 'all-there' . . . even the string-bikini side-deco looks intact. And My Kinda Spec, too . . . roll-up windows, no 'roof, poverty caps, red lead. All it needs is a nice little 1.8 twin-cam, then . . .
. . . zoom-zoom . . . . . . . . shaka-laka-laka
How much, ya think?
Minor correction, the first years were labeled 'Rabbit' in the US market. I bought mine in 1975. Absolutely no extras; rubber floor coverings.
