Are we to think that wooden boat is supposed to hold the car or is the picture playing with us?

Craig, I hope you don't mind, but I emailed a link to this thread to one of my favorite car blogs "MotoringConBrio." Drew replied within minutes thanking me for the tip, and he already has it up: http://motoringconbrio.com/2013/03/0...-back-in-1982/

This is absolutely going viral in the car community. Can't be stopped. Just too good.

Not for nothing, but as a collector, this is the kind of thing I (and others) pay a serious premium for. Whoever said it earlier was right. To own this car and to be able to start every conversation with "Did you ever see that photo...". They say a photo is worth a million words. I don't know about that. But I can promise you this photo is worth thousands of dollars.

    Do I sound jealous?

    Guys,

Also of interest is the models description in the maintenance record of the appliccable models.
    1973(?) - 911T , E , S and 911 S 2.7 !
I have seen the 911 S 2.7 brochure in the RS book but not anywhere else .
Has anyone seen other like descriptions for the RS in other Porsche literature ?
    Good detective work Craig !

    Cheers,
    Dennis.

I guess that's how they do it there, huh? Anyone know, do they place the cars sideways on top of the gunwales?

PS... makes you wonder how the heck they got that crane to the island!

Fantastic photo and great history on your car. One has to wonder how that boat stays upright even in calm seas. I would think that it would be placed on the boat, it would wobble a bit, then KERPLUNK! The boat flops over and car is gone... Amazing.

With apologies to epilot for going a bit astray, but that picture has me fascinated by this delivery process. I found a couple more pictures that show how these deliveries are carried out.
