Thread: Engine Sound Pad

    Engine Sound Pad

I just installed one of Eric's new repro early style sound pads. Of course as you'd expect, it fit perfectly. The only change I had to make was to slightly reshape the retaining clips as Eric's pad is slightly thinner. You can also use the wrapper it came in as a drop cloth to keep from spraying glue where it doesn't belong! He thinks of everything!

What years would that be correct for? I've been waiting for years to buy one for the 72S because I was hoping a correct one would fall from the sky.

Sure is, that picture was taken with the engine dropped a little for some working room.

Scott, I think that pad was correct for up to 69. I use the Appbiz one for 72, maybe not totally correct, but the type of foam material Appbiz uses lasts longer than the current factory type where the foam separates from the backing and falls down.

We installed one of these pads a week ago and it was awesome.

It fits GREAT and looks PERFECT. It's so great, in fact, that I ordered a second one this morning.

    SWEET!

I think it might have been switched during the 1970 model year. I've seen two '70 cars with this textured pad and I think they were both original. Can't remember who but someone else here told me they'd seen one as well.

I bought two of these last week. Haven't laid my hands on them but looking forward to it.
