    FS: Mirrors: '74/75 outside rear view -- left side

    I've ended up with two outside rear view mirrors. One is near perfect, the other has a small ding where the stalk enters the housing. The chrome on the stalk is also getting rough.

    $245 for the really good one; $125 for the 'driver quality' mirror.

    These use the same base gasket and mounting as the Durant and '72/73 mirror, so they make a good reversible upgrade -- temporary or not. The rear vision is hugely improved with this mirror.

    Will ship anywhere.

    How does the base gasket/mounting differ from the painted flag style introduced in 1976? I just bought a 76 and while I don't mind the updated style of the SC and 3.2 I like the chrome early mirror on mid-year cars as it matches the window trim better.

    I think the powered flag was introduced in '76. That is the much larger housing with a third hole in the base mount. Most of these were power-adjust. The earlier mirrors do not cover the holes completely. Only exception I know of was the 912E, which had the earlier mirror.

    Because a lot of these cars were altered over 40 years in owners' hands, I could be more certain if you posted a picture of the mirror you have now.
