Good to hear. I should be receiving my pad from Bob tomorrow. I expect that it'll be a nice fit.

I think you will be pleased. It takes a little bit of working to get it into a good position, especially the left front side (beyond the fuel filter). I didn't rush to get it under the top metal tabs since they have a limited bending life, saving them for last. I also removed the air cleaner for ease of access.

Bob also suggested using velcro in strategic locations to hold it in place but that didn't work for me. The velcro didn't want to stick to the original dried glue and within one day started to sag over the air cleaners. I eventually glued it down with some 3M adhesive spray and its working great.

Kent: Can you post a picture of the 3M can?

anyone try the magnet mounting? I'll never glue another pad in, too much mess.

For me with the 73 the interference fit after the folding made it stay quite well. I didn't use any adhesive or attachment method. I did a final location check, and then made sure it was correctly placed in relation to the upper tabs.

Got the pad installed in a snap. Only needed adhesive in the upper corners. Excuse the lumpy appearance, I've got a few anchor bolts for harnesses under the pad.
