my only early 911 example; and don't you just LOVE the option codes and descriptions printed at a time when they knew what was what. We NEED to find more of these to permit confirmation of details. It appears that each distributor had it's own form and manner of preparation, and these evolved over time as well.

Off topic but here is an interesting factoid. These cars WERE NOT CHEAP.
As a young man I knew guys with expensive cars who lived in cheap houses. And I also knew guys with expensive houses and cheap cars.
Then there were the "cats" that had expensive cars, expensive houses AND expensive wives or girlfriends.
I never really knew who was the happiest but from my point of view (young and dumb) I figured any guy with a hot car and a hot girlfriend had to in the drivers seat even if he lived in a trailer.
Best,

Tom, thanks for doing this excercise. I have seen that inflation calculator before and in other formats. There are so many factors to be considered. Example: USD vs DM back then and thru the years.

And Andy never lived in a trailer!!! But he did have COOL CARS. Still does.

This one is mine, posted by Dave above. Handed to me by the second owner. All items on the list were still with the car.

Stuttgart Studios states that they can provide a sticker from 1970 forward.

Pre-70 is apparently still "the Wild West" as we've seen in the various examples provided.

The portfolio from Stuttgart Studios is pretty remarkable. I would like to see a larger sample of color scans of 'Longhood' versions from our users here. I work in P-Shop on a daily basis, and with enough color examples for reference, I could probably reproduce just about anything. You may enjoy the samples below of a really poor scan of a factory price/option and paint color sheet from 1973.
(thx, tom)
