    OK here is # 26 of this little group of 4 911S coupes....Sorry my build date sticker is missing...

    Sure is fun!!Just did front to rear maintenance, replaced oil lines, freshened up front compartment and engine bay...cleaned engine top and bottom. Took out roll bar. Changed all fluids, put battery in as seen. Hooked up fog lights to original switch on dash etc etc..Replaced oil level sending unit and oil pressure sending unit...thinking about a Prototipo to replace the Fittipaldi

    I want to drive it!!!ASAP before it gets too hot.

    . . . This vehicle is being represented as a project. It has incorrect parts and non- matching numbers. The original color is Glacier Blue as per the COA and the door jamb plate 326 9-1. All of the information given here is by observation. It is the BUYERS sole responsibility to inspect, research and determine the validity of all information and the condition regarding this item. The vehicle is available for inspection by appointment any time prior to close of this auction. Failure to inspect this vehicle is the sole responsibility of the BIDDER AND BUYER. The vehicle will be sold as is and where is with no guarantee and/or warranty for bidders information herein or for the condition and description of the vehicle. Please study the images and ask questions. It is absolutely recommended that this vehicle is inspected by the BIDDER/BUYER or bidder/buyers KNOWLEGEBLE representative prior to placing any bid. The successful bidder will be the BUYER of the vehicle and own it as is. The BUYER is responsible for the pick-up and shipping of the vehicle. Storage fees will be collected after seven days of the sale. It is absolutely required that shipping and/or pick-up be arranged at the close of the auction. The vehicle runs and drives. There is no guarantee and/or warranty as to the vehicles safe or reliable condition. There is corrosion (rust) on the vehicle. There are bubbles in the paint on the passenger door, right front fender, lower edge of windshield and probably elsewhere. Again the vehicle should be inspected . . .

    . . . There is no know history on the car. This is an interesting early 911S with modifications. The rear license plate frame is not included as with the steering wheel. A stock steering wheel will replace the one in the images. Mileage shown is NOT actual mileage. Odometer is not in working condition . . .

    Currently = $70.1k w/ ~2 days to go

    Auction ends today, at $101k ... Strong money for a non-matching car?

    Like a guy I know in the salvage business says: "I never look at them too hard because I don't really want to know." (i.e. it's the next guy's problem.)

    Well, one thing I have observed is that the engine lid closing panel is from a later car. So... I wonder about the collision history.

    EDIT: it also appears the Capacitive Discharge unit is missing/bypassed.

    Neither of these things are confidence-builders.

    I find it strange that no questions have been asked/answered [or simply not posted]. There are so many questions.

    Here is the original [thank you Google] mention of it last year right here on Early S:

    "Glacier 1972 911S This is my 1972 911S - found in Missouri infested with varmints. I have been removing the refuse of the previous inhabitants and rebuilding what they were exercising their teeth on. It is now back on the road and most everything is working. The A/C is not going yet but looks as if it was working when last parked for the varmints.
    The car must have been converted to RS specifications early in its life, but hard to tell exactly when. It was originally Glacier blue – not many options other than the A/C. It came from the dealer ship in Jacksonville Florida and spent some time in the Denver area and then in the Tampa area. I have some history on the car when it was in Tampa, but that is all I have. I have the original maintenance record from new including the 60,000 mile service done in Denver at Hagestad. It came with an RS spec engine with an RS 019 injection pump. It had period recaro aftermarket seats in it that the inhabitants truly loved and came with H1 headlamps. The suspension had been worked over also with earlier aftermarket pieces. It came with period Wilwood calipers upfront. All of the period hardware I have kept on the car except for the seats and H1's. Mr. Shea parted with the seats that are nice original hounds tooth double lockers.
    My question is; does anyone here know the car and its early history?"

    Poster was referred to various sources. So: Does it still have the RS engine? I cannot image it does or that would have been stated in the eBay auction. I would take a genuine RS engine any day over matching numbers but understand I am now in the minority in that regard. So what engine might be in it? Not a word on the auction. I have been around long enough to know that a lack of information usually has a good reason for that.. On the other hand there are always cases where things are more than represented for whatever reason. [I sat on my hands overnight instead of going to look at a local Factory M491 914-6 GT for sale and missed it. it was the real thing and a wonderful car with fantastic history. You never know.]

    This car looks like it could be great. Could...

    And perhaps less than 10 years ago the same car with original (Glacier Blue) paint, Factory AC, Sport Seats and all the bells and whistles went for $25,000.
    The hindsight is good. Foresight, not so much.
